EL TAPATIO

The buliding and environment were great.

I think Danica first noticed the place, close to Juanita's Bakery and the lazer tag place.

Overall, a little bit on the sketchy side.

Unneccissary and confusing furniture in there. But it was great.

The jukebox was amazing.

The atmosphere was also pretty great. Very raw. Maybe not something you want in a restaurant.

The food wasn't really good at all though.

I couldn't tell if my burrito was supposed to taste that way, or if it just sucked.

It grew on me somehow, but doesn't beat Alberto's.

It was different, so maybe some people might like it?

Go there just for the jukebox and weird furniture.

LA TORMENTA

40 North 400 West, Provo

We had to hold Mexican Monday on a Tuesday because La Tormenta isn't open on Mondays.

But that's ok.

We had a group of 10 people and walked around yonder to eat at Taqueria La Tormenta. Finally happened, after seeing the place for months. A place that had a hand in the inspiration for Mexican Monday.

An anticipated activity for a while.

It was CLOSED. It wasn't even that late.

We saw a TV on inside and knocked.

A guy opened up and Patrick talked to him in Spanish about us. The man was convinced when Patrick told him there were 10 of us.

So they opened up just for us. Amazing in itself.

We stood and ordered from the menu in the hallway just across from the bathrooms while a guy stood in the kitchen doorway and wrote it all down.

All English had to be translated.

We got our Jarritos and sat down.

It took a while to get our food, but that's fine considering the guy opened up the kitchen just for us to be able to eat there. Also that was fine considering how amazing our food was. We all ate off each other's plates. Amazing food and lots of it.

Pat got lengua taco. A hot topic at the table.

I ordered a quesadilla. Way good.

Then we went and watched 24 at Dani and Suzannah's request.

LOS 3 AMIGOS

150 South University Ave, Provo

I've noticed this place for a while, always wondering if it was even functioning.

So we hit it up.

There were a lot of us there too, like 10 or something.

It's kind of a sit-down place. We had a waiter and menus handed to us. Et cetera.

Kind of your typical Mexican place for Americans.

Crappy enchiladas and such.

It wasn't that great.

The jukebox was amazing though. We definitely ran it.

It obviously used to be a Chuck o' Rama, which is totally cool.

The food was mediocre Mexican food. A sad rippoff of Los Hermanos.

We went back to boystown and watched Into The Wild.

EL PASTORERO

774 North University Parkway, Provo

We wanted to go to La Tormenta, this place by our house, but it's closed on Mondays.

So we went to El Pastorero. Casey and I had already been there once with Elena.

We loaded in Steve's friend Erin's VW bus. Great interior lighting.

The menu is simple and unique.

I got a torta. and it was pretty ok. Enjoyed my quesadilla from before more.

It's actually owned by white people, but they seem to know their stuff.

They have cool Mexican photographs.

Then we went home and started Better Off Dead week at boystown.
